Newly formed CYSS-AISA alliance holds joint rally in DU

The Aam Aadmi Party students’ wing Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti ( CYSS ) and the All India Students’ Association (AISA), that have tied up to fight the Delhi University Students’ Union elections, took out a joint march across North Campus on Wednesday.

During the ‘Badlaav Yatra’, which sought to bring an end to college hooliganism, the joint CYSS-AISA panel was released. The panel includes Abhi Gyan of AISA from Ramjas College for the post of president, Anshika Singh of AISA from Dyal Singh College for the post of vice-president, Chandra Mani Dev from Faculty of Law for secretary and Sunny Tanwar from PGDAV for joint secretary.

AISA’s DU president Kawalpreet Kaur said “The AISA-CYSS alliance will provide a much needed alternative to DU students, who are fed up due to zero achievements of the NSUI-ABVP’s DUSU and routine violence on campus in the name of the union.”

CYSS Delhi convener Sumit Yadav said, “The reason for low voter turnout in every DU election is attributed to campus violence, which the ABVP and NSUI happily feed for their victory.”

AISA’s DU secretary Madhurima Kundu blamed the ABVP-NSUI for daily obstructions in their work.
